About Us

Karen and Sister Catherine finish a stained-glass panel
Presently, the studio consists of
Sister Catherine Muehlbauer, SSMN
and Karen Rung, Studio Assistant.
There is also, from time to time,
much gratefully received help from
other members of the Sisters of St. Mary.
In addition, we are beginning to sell
the work of other artists and crafts-
persons as Minsart Studio
Associate Artists.

Our studio is a ministry of the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur.
The name "Minsart" comes to us from the founder of the community,
a Belgian priest, Nicholas Joseph Minsart.

Father Minsart knew the importance of bringing beauty and spiritual
meaning to a hungry, weary world. Likewise, Minsart Studio strives
through a specialization in Sacred Art to bring inspiration and
beauty to our world through various art mediums.

Please be sure and read our mission statement .

To see some of what we do here, make yourself comfortable,
click the music link icon below, and enjoy a slide show
of the process we are currently using to make pewter pieces,
including this processional cross for Christ the King Seminary
Chapel
in East Aurora, NY
.

We are also working on a line of pewter pendants and
gifts which are originally designed by Sister Catherine Muehlbauer,
and artfully enhanced with beading by Karen Rung.
